Burlington MS Volleyball Camp
Pick up forms @ BRC but MUST return to Diane Marshall.
You will have an opportunity to work on your volleyball skills! The camp will be led by BHS and BMS coaching staff and BHS players. Fundamental volleyball skills will be the main focus.

Little Cats Summer Volleyball Camp

This volleyball camp is for girls entering grades 1st-6th for the 2021-2022 school year. The camp will be conducted by BHS and BMS coaching staff along with BHS players. The camp will focus on the fundamental skills and rules of the game. No prior exposure is necessary, but if you have experience, you will be grouped accordingly.

Grades 1—6

Coach Augustyn’s Middle School Volleyball Camp
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to work with BMS Volleyball coach Julie Augustyn. She will focus on the fundamental skills of volleyball to help you get ready for the upcoming season. You must register by June 2 or pay an additional fee. Proceeds from camp go to the BMS Volley-ball program.

Little Cats Summer Basketball Camp
Make sure to get your kiddos signed up for this great camp hosted by Coach Logan that will include fundamental drills, competitive competitions & more! Each kid will get a handout with drills & skill work to take home and do on their own! Fee will include T-shirt and admission to the Basketball Bash at the Outdoor Pool July 30th from 6-8pm!

Burlington Basketball Academy
Coached by former collegiate basketball players, including local BHS grads Erin McGown (Menard) and Hallie Wilson (Boyce), your kid can develop and grow basketball fundamentals and skills with an emphasis on shooting, ball handling, and passing in small group settings. Limit 40/session.

2nd-3rd Grade—11:00-11:45

Chuck-E-Cheese & Topeka Zoo
Let’s have fun in Topeka. We will start at the Topeka Zoo followed by a ride on the mini train & carousel. The afternoon will be spent at Chuck-E-Cheese where kids will receive 2 slices of pizza, unlimited soft drinks & 90 minutes of all you can play in the arcade. Lunch will be late so kids might want to pack a snack to tide them over. The fee covers all admissions, rides, transportation and the pizza lunch.

Roller’s in Emporia
It’s great to skate so hop on the van and let’s head to Emporia to Roller’s. You can sign up for one or both trips. The fee covers admission, skate rental, 1 slice of pizza, 1 small drink and transportation. Bring extra money for additional snacks or for any games you may want to play. Don’t forget to bring socks.

All-Star Adventures
Always a favorite for the kids is All Star Adventures in Wichita. This outdoor park & indoor arcade provide hours of entertainment. Kids will have 3 hours of unlimited fun on their attractions. They have miniature golf, Go-Karts (height requirement for the bigger Go-Karts), bumper boats, bumper cars, Tilt-a-Whirl, Spider and several other rides. You can either bring a sack lunch or money for lunch at the concession stand. If you want to play arcade games you will also need extra money for that. All Star Adventures also has a driving range & batting cage which can be used for an additional fee. Fee includes 3 hours of unlimited attractions & transportation.

Calling all 5-8 year olds! Have you always wanted to give tumbling a try? Here is your chance. Brynna Wilson has taught at the Yates Center studio and at BRC. She will help you improve your skills with a mixture of strength, flexibility, limbering & balance during this 4 week session and if there is interest we will add a second session in July.

Out & About
Hey kids, enjoy a morning out and about with your friends. We will take the rec van and head to one of our great parks in the Burlington or New Strawn area, maybe take a tour of a local place of interest, stop by the library or museum, possibly make a craft—each day will be different so come dressed comfy and in clothes you don’t care if they get dirty.

Baton Basics
How about learning a few baton basics? This class is for those going into 2nd grade and older. Batons can be purchased at class and there will be several batons that can be borrowed if we happen to have the correct length.

Babysitting Clinic
Babysitting is often the first job for young people. It is fun and rewarding but must be taken seriously & responsibly. Jamie Roberts from Flint Hills Community Health Center will lead the class with 1st aide & CPR input from Justin Logan. The class is for boys & girls ages 10 & up. Participants will learn how to deal with discipline, care and feeding, interaction, emergencies & safety.

Parent/Child Fishing Trip
Hey kids, grab an adult who would like to help you fish & go on this trip. No pole, no problem as we have several for you to use. We will head to a private “honey-hole” spot where you will hopefully catch a few fish. Bait & transportation will be provided. Eat supper either before or after the trip.

Adults won’t fish, just the kids.

Storytime, Fun & Crafts
Sign up for some fun times with Coffey County Library @ BRC as they do story time, crafts and a variety of other activities each week. Moms, if you need a kid-free hour to workout this is your opportunity. Space is limited.

Flag Football
It’s time for Flag Football! There will be 2 leagues of flag football this year. League 1will be 1st and 2nd grades and League 2 will be 3rd and 4th grades. Games will be Saturday mornings, beginning September 12 and run for approximately 6 weeks. Flags will be provided for each player. Volunteer coaches are needed!

Youth Soccer
It is time to sign up for the youth soccer league!! Boys and girls 6-13 years can play in this competitive league. Games will be Tuesday nights, starting September 7 and will run approximately six weeks through October 12. You will compete in one of three age divisions: Midgets, Minors or Majors. 8th graders who do not turn 14 before September 1st, 2021 will also be eligible. Shin-guards are required. Volunteer coaches needed.

Instructional Volleyball
Join us for Instructional Volleyball this fall. Basic skills will be introduced to help players prepare for future leagues. Details will be released late summer !

Instructional Soccer
Join us for instructional soccer! All Kindergarten age kids are invited to come and learn basic soccer skills to prepare for future soccer leagues. We introduce beginner skills with fun and exciting drills. NOTE: Instructional soccer is for KINDERGARTEN kids. The field will be cut down, number of players reduced, and emphasis placed on skill development.

Instructional Golf
Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in a summer golf program! BRC, in conjunction with high school golf coach Julie Dawson, will offer a summer instructional golf program on Mondays and Thursdays in late June and early July at Rock Creek Country Club. There will be a beginners class (1st-4th grade) and an advanced class (5th-8th grade). Clubs will not be provided so be sure to bring your own!

Glow Show Dance Fun
Learn a simple routine then get your “glow” on and perform at the annual Glow Show at the BHS football game in October. The fee covers instruction and glow materials (poms, etc) that you will be using at the Glow Show! This is a pompon class that learns a dance for the Glow Show and then is finished. Maximum of 20 people. If we get over 20 signed up we will offer a second class at 4:00pm.
The tentative date for the Glow Show is October 22.

Pom Pon
Join this performing group to work on rhythm, coordination and dance moves! This class will run from September through February. Participants will perform several times throughout the year at various sporting events. The fee covers classes from Sept through Feb. There will be an additional t-shirt fee prior to the basketball game.

Join the library’s virtual summer program. Each week, kids at home (or at the library) will join Page Turner & Kenny (plus a cast of kids) as they jump into the Once Upon a Time Machine in search of stories & adventure. Each week includes show day, craft day, author/illustrator day, mash-up day & special guest/field trip day. All of this great summer programming is available

through the library’s website.
