Summer & Early Fall Activities
Please note our summer brochure format includes both Summer AND Fall activity dates! We hope to provide you with enough information to plan your summer and early fall activities!


Burlington MS Volleyball Camp
Pick up forms @ BRC but MUST return to Diane Marshall. You will have an opportunity to work on your volleyball skills! The camp will be led by BHS and BMS coaching staff and BHS players. Fundamental volleyball skills will be the main focus. Make checks payable to BHS.

Grades 7—8
July 20 - 22 @ BHS Gym
$20 first child and $15 each additional sibling


Little Cats Summer Volleyball Camp

This volleyball camp is for girls entering grades 1st-6th for the 2019-2020 school year. The camp will be conducted by BHS and BMS coaching staff along with BHS players. The camp will focus on the fundamental skills and rules of the game. No prior exposure is necessary, but if you have experience, you will be grouped accordingly.

Grades 1—6
July 20 - 22 @ BHS
Grades 1-3: 11:30am—12:45pm
Grades 4-6: 10:00am—11:30am
$20 first child & $15 each additional sibling

Kids Teaching Kids

Private Piano for Beginners
Elliott Burns has been taking piano lessons for 9 years and is ready to share his talents with those who would like to learn to play the piano. If there is enough interest, lessons will continue in the fall. Classes will be 30 minutes in length.

Ages 7+
Tuesdays, July 7—Aug 11 (no class July 28)
Classes scheduled every half hour beginning at 9am
$50 for 5 lessons


Rollers in Emporia
Let’s take a short trip to Roller’s in Emporia! Bring money for any snacks you may want at the skating rink. Maximum of 13 skaters. We will offer this trip 2 times this summer!

Grades 1+
Friday, July 10 and Friday, July 24
$10 Member; $13 Non Member; $5 Late

Flag Football
It’s time for Flag Football! There will be 2 leagues of flag football this year. League 1will be 1st and 2nd grades and League 2 will be 3rd and 4th grades. Games will be Saturday mornings, beginning September 12 and run for approximately 6 weeks. Flags will be provided for each player. Volunteer coaches are needed!

Grades 1/2 and 3/4

Youth Soccer
It is time to sign up for the youth soccer league!! Boys and girls 6-13 years can play in this competi-tive league. Games will be Tuesday nights, starting September 8 and will run approximately six weeks through October 20. You will compete in one of three age divi-sions: Midgets, Minors or Majors. 8th graders who do not turn 14 before September 1st, 2020 will also be eligible. Shin-guards are required. Volunteer coaches needed.

Kids 6—13 years old

Youth Volleyball
We are looking for 5—6 graders to join our youth volleyball league! Games will begin on Monday, Sept 21 and run approximately six weeks. **NOTE: All registrations received after Tuesday, September 1will be placed on teams IF spots are available!

Instructional Volleyball
Join us for Instructional Volleyball this fall. Basic skills will be introduced to help players prepare for future leagues. Details will be released late summer !

Instructional Soccer
Join us for instructional soccer! All Kindergarten age kids are invited to come and learn basic soccer skills to prepare for future soccer leagues. We introduce beginner skills with fun and exciting drills. NOTE: Instructional soccer is for KINDERGARTEN kids. The field will be cut down, number of players reduced, and emphasis placed on skill development.

Summer Lunch Program
The Summer Lunch Program will be back again this summer at BRC! This year the lunch program is being organized by Burlington United Methodist Church outreach committee and is available through a government grant. Make sure to take advantage of this free lunch program! Due to COVID-19, lunches will be given out on Mondays and will include enough meals for the entire week.

Glow Show Dance Fun
Learn a simple routine then get your “glow” on and perform at the annual Glow Show at the BHS football game in October. The fee covers instruction and glow materials (poms, etc) that you will be using at the Glow Show! This is a pompon class that learns a dance for the Glow Show and then is finished.

Maximum of 20 people.
1st grade +
Thursdays, Sept 3—Glow Show

Pom Pon
Join this performing group to work on rhythm, coordination and dance moves! This class will run from September through February. Participants will perform several times throughout the year at various sporting events. The fee covers classes from Sept through Feb.
