Pre-School Soccer

Join us for pre-school soccer!  All 4 year old's are invited to come and learn basic soccer skills to prepare for future soccer leagues.  We introduce beginner skills with fun and exciting drills.  NOTE: pre-school soccer is for 4 year old's only.

Weights with Trevor

Middle schoolers, join Trevor at BRC on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 for a weights workout! You will be guided through a workout using machine weights and dumbbells. Safety and proper lifting technique will be a key focus along with knowledge of lifting for a lifetime of fitness!

Boo Boogie Bash

Put on your favorite costume and don’t forget your dancing shoes because it’s time for a Halloween dance party!  We will pump up the volume and play some of your favorite, creepy Halloween songs along with today’s hits during this Boo Boogie Bash!  Prizes will be awarded for the scariest costume, prettiest costume and the cutest costume.

Halloween Coloring Contest

Win a prize by entering the Halloween coloring contest!  Pick up a color sheet at the Rec Center starting October 1.  Turn in your completed sheet by Wednesday, October 29th.

Boys Night Out

Join us for some fun at the Rec. We will play games such as dodgeball, gaga ball, knock out, night tag, the Wii and do some swimming! Bring swim trunks and towel. Come have fun with the boys. Pizza will be included!

Disc Golf

Disc golf has gotten super popular over the last few years. If you’ve ever thought of trying it but aren’t sure where to start join Trevor for this Youth Disc Golf program!

Recreation Wrestling

Kids 4+ interested in learning about wrestling should enroll in the Rec Wrestling Program!  Wrestlers will learn basic wrestling holds and terminology.  The BHS wrestling team, will run practices (Mondays for three weeks), followed by a local tournament on Monday, December 9.  Each wrestler will receive a t-shirt and medal for participating in the local tournament.  For those interested in competing in competitive wrestling tournaments, the Burlington Wrestling Club has a separate program which begins after the BRC wrestling program has ended.  Rec Wrestling practices are held at the BHS wrestling room; enter through the Activity Entrance.  Practice will run from 5:15-6:15pm. More information to come soon!

Pom Cheer

5th-8th grade girls! Join us for another exciting year with Miss Bri leading the way! Come learn a fun new routine that will be performed at half time of a boys high school basketball game in February. Game TBD.

Glow Show Dance Fun      

Learn a simple routine then get your “glow” on and perform at the annual Glow Show at the BHS football game in October.  The fee covers instruction and glow   materials (poms, etc) that you will be using at the Glow Show!   This is a pompon class that learns a dance for the Glow Show and then is finished. We are excited to have Miss Bri (Birk) instructing our Glow Show dancers again this year! We will announce the date of the game performance at a later date.

Christmas Coloring Contest

Enter this coloring contests for a little friendly coloring competition and try to win one of the prizes! Pick up a coloring sheet after Monday, December 1 and return it by Monday, December 22. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Instructional Basketball W/the ‘Cats

Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders are invited to learn about the game of basketball by participating in our annual instructional camp. Kids will get to learn from Coach Logan and the Burlington Wildcats basketball team! Instructional basketball will be held on Wednesdays from January 7th to January 28th with the 28th being our game day. Fee covers cost of the clinic plus a t-shirt. Times may change based on the number of kids participating.

Youth Basketball & Draft Combine

Boys & girls, grades 3-6, are eligible to participate in Burlington’s competitive basketball league. Practices will begin once teams have been selected. Games will be played on Saturday’s, beginning January 3. The season will last approximately 6 weeks.

 

This year we will be adding a BRC Basketball Draft Combine to our Youth Basketball season. This will be included in the Youth Basketball fee. Both boys and girls will run drills lead by the BHS basketball coaches. Rec coaches will watch to help with putting faces to names during the drafting process. Rec coaches will also be shown some drills to run with their Youth Basketball teams.

 

Grades 3-6

We will be rotating every other Friday after school with BINGO and Movie days.

These will start at 3:30 on each Friday.

 

FREE to attend.

 

Popcorn will be provided for the Movies but once you are in for the movie—you must stay and watch until you are picked up.
