6 on 6 Women’s Volleyball

Ladies, get your teams together for our annual 6 on 6 women’s volleyball league. This is a “call your own game” league with no officials present. Games will be on Wednesday nights and will run approximately 6 weeks long.

Burlington Promotions and BRC are teaming up to offer an evening of fun @ Kelley Park. Free hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be served while supplies last. Hayrack rides around the park, candy cannon along with the candy hunt, costume contest, pumpkin decorating, money dig, pumpkin patch, hot wheels racing and touch a truck. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 15. Mark your calendars and look for more details to be published in September! (This event takes the place of the costume contest & candy hunt BRC usually has at the high school.)


4 on 4 Women’s Volleyball

Ladies, come out and join us for some “call your own game” 4 on 4 volleyball. Games will begin November 9th and run for approximately 6 weeks.

Fall Decorating Contest

Decorate your home with all of your favorite fall décor and sign up to have it judged. The first place prize is $100, 2nd place is $75 and 3rd place is $50. This is sponsored by Burlington Promotions. 

Must be registered and decorated by Thursday, October 13th at noon and left decorated until Sunday, October 16th.

Christmas Craft Fair

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Christmas seems to come faster every year and this year will be no exception! Come to the 43rd annual Christmas Craft Festival to shop for gifts and decorating items! A large variety of homemade arts and crafts will fill the gym, commons, and hallways of the Burlington High School! Several area businesses will hold their open houses on this day, so plan to spend the day right here in Burlington!

Join us for the 18th annual Craft and Gift Annex! Once again we will offer additional Craft Festival shopping at Burlington Middle School! Crafters who do not fit in the High School, direct sales, home-based businesses, etc. will be selling their wares here. Stop by for some great gift items!

“We Woof You a Merry Christmas” is the theme for the 2022 Burlington Promotions Christmas Parade.  Get your float together and plan to be a part of this fun, lighted parade!  To register for the parade, contact Ronda Gilbert at the Coffey County Housing Authority..

Holiday Decorating Contest

Holiday Homes Tour

The Christmas spirit will be everywhere as you attend the Holiday Homes Tour! Area homes will be decked out for the Christmas season. This is a great place to get decorating ideas, so grab your friends or sign up to ride the Recreation Center van and enjoy a Sunday afternoon of fun! Tickets can be purchased at Hoover’s Thriftway or BRC. Tickets for the home tour must be purchased at BRC or Hoover’s Thriftway in advance for $7 or at the door for $10. If you plan to ride the BRC van, you will need to purchase that ticket from BRC for and additional $2.

American Volkssport Association Event-Walking for fun, fitness & friendship

The AVA has chosen Burlington as one of their event locations this year! “Volkssport” is German for “sport of people.” The AVA has a nationwide grassroots network of over 200 active clubs nationwide presenting more than 2,500 volkssporting events each year. They welcome people of any background, age, and ability to participate in their noncompetitive sporting events. You can set your own pace at any of their events, which include walking, biking, swimming, canoeing, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing. If you love to walk and meet new friends, come out and participate in this event! No membership is required, only the motivation to walk. Bring your family, friends, and even pets.

Men’s League Basketball

Men, dust off those old sneakers and call up the boys for our adult 5 on 5 basketball league. Games will be played on Wednesday nights for approximately 6 weeks beginning on January 11.

Line Dancing Cardio Blast

Want to burn some calories and have a good time doing it? Come join us as we move to the music and learn popular line dances to country, pop, rock, and other genres of music. You’ll be having so much fun that you won’t realize that you’re getting an awesome workout!

Would you like to be more knowledgeable about using your smartphone and Windows 10? Join Andrew Daugherty of Small Mall and Computer Repair as he leads this class on improving technology skills.

Family Movie Night

Bring the kiddos and something comfy to sit or lie on and watch a movie in the gym on the big screen! $3 at the door will get you popcorn, a drink an da fun way to spend a Saturday evening with family and friends.
