OK KIDS 5K & Mile Fun Run
Join us for our 2nd Annual OK KIDS 5k & Mile Fun Run to kick off the weekend. You can register in
person at BRC. An online registration link will be available soon. Day of registration begins at 7:00am
at Jones Park across from the New Strawn Community building.

Races will begin at 7:30am
FREE event & part of the Coffey County
Wellness Circuit.

8th Annual BRC Triathlon
Be sure to mark Saturday, August 8 on your calendar! Swim, bike, and run as an individual,
or grab two friends and enter the team triathlon. Coffey County Circuit participants can earn 3
points by entering an individual triathlon. Team participants earn 1 point.
Registration begins at 7:30 AM.
*TEAM DIVISION: 3 members—each completes one segment of the race
*Event may be postponed/canceled due to severe
weather. NO REFUNDS
*Approved helmets required for all bikers

2026 Fitness Challenge
Keep your fitness promise this year! Walk, run, swim, bike, lift—or do any combination that works
for you. The goal is simple: move your body with intention. We’re here to encourage you every step
of the way. Stay accountable, stay focused, and stay consistent with the BRC Fitness Challenge! Check
out the Fitness Challenge handout (at the front desk), follow the simple steps, and get started
today. Let’s do this!
Steps to the Fitness Challenge
* Must have an active BRC Membership to participate
* Select your point level fitness goal from the chart at the bottom of this page
* Earn points with any physical activity—walk, run, swim, bike, lift, and more. Just follow the
points sheet to track your progress toward your goal!
* Track your points each time you exercise. (Refer to the BRC Fitness Challenge Points
Equivalency Sheet to tally the points for the activity you have completed)
* You can earn 5 bonus points a day if you complete your workout at the Rec Center
* Turn in Fitness Challenge Worksheet daily, weekly or monthly. Totals are tallied and
posted monthly.
* BRC Fitness Challenge will have a prize for all who meet their goal. Points are charted from
January 1 through December 31
2026 FITNESS GOALS
Beginner: 1,000 points
Intermediate: 1,200 points
Advanced: 1,400 points

Morning Water Aerobics
Do you enjoy the water? Start your morning off right with this great water aerobics class! This class is open to everyone—young and old—and designed for all fitness levels. Move at your own pace while enjoying the water and the camaraderie of your classmates. Come get active, stay cool, and have fun!

Deep Water Aerobics
This evening outdoor pool class will be led by Aquatics Director Justin Logan. Join him in the pool for a great deep water aerobics workout and enjoy a fun, refreshing way to stay active! Don’t miss out—come make a splash and get moving!

Pickleball
Pickleball is a fun combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong that can be enjoyed by all ages. The rules are simple, the game is easy to learn, and you can jump in and start having fun right away! Stop by and give it a try—you might just find your new favorite activity! Want to learn more? Stop by the front desk! We’ll be happy to introduce you to some of our regular players and help get you connected on the PlayTime Scheduler app used to schedule court times.

Karate & Aikido
Build balance, self-discipline, confidence, and endurance! Classes are open for ages 6 through adults—perfect for beginners or anyone looking to grow their skills and fitness. For more information, contact instructor Bill Conroy or the BRC at 620-364-8484. Come challenge yourself and have fun while doing it!

Restore & Rebuild
This 60-minute adult fitness class is designed to renew your body by building muscle, improving flexibility, and helping you feel your best. R&R combines a variety of techniques including floor work, barre, yoga, Pilates, conditioning, strength training, Progressing Ballet Technique, and stretching. This well-rounded class helps increase muscle memory, improves flexibility and mobility and builds strength and stamina Participants will also learn breathing techniques to boost blood flow, improve posture, and enhance range of motion. Equipment used includes body balls, yoga mats, resistance bands, and light weights. Participants may go barefoot or wear aerobic shoes. Each movement builds on the next to help you get the most out of every session. Come move, strengthen, and restore your body!
